It is always best practice to have a property cleaned professionally before the start of the new tenancy as this then gives a bench mark of how the property should be left when the Tenant leaves. Also, with the rise of deposit disputes at the end of the tenancy it is essential that there is proof of the property having been cleaned prior to the commencement of the tenancy – this could be by either keeping the cleaners receipt or by it being noted on the inventory.
At the end of any fully managed tenancy, we will always inspect the property and ensure that the property has been cleaned to the same standard as the commencement. If it isn’t, then usually the Tenant would be responsible for paying for any additional cleaning.
