Overview...

Bournemouth is a resort town, located along the coast of England, to the east of the Jurassic Coast.  Bournemouth is the largest settlement in in Dorset, with Poole to the west and Christchurch in the east.  Bournemouth has three grade listen churches such as St Peter's and St Stephen's in the city centre and St Clement's in Boscombe, bringing in hundreds of tourists every year.  As well as churches, Bournemouth also offers plenty of landmarks, such as Bournemouth Pier stretching 305 metres.  Bournemouth also has a proffesional football team known as the Cherries.  AFC Bournemouth play at the Goldstands Stadium in Boscombe.  



Residential Area...

Bournemouth benefits from a huge range of housing, attracting all types of residents.  The main attraction is the coastal views, many detached housing and even apartments benefits from a sea view.  Bournemouth also has a range of housing estates, some houses benefiting from character, attracting familes and young couples.  As well as this, there are plenty of flats and apartments close to the city centre, perfect for working proffesionals and mature students.  As well as this, Bourmemouth also benefits from plenty of student housing, situated only a short walk to the city centre and the university.

 Bourmemouth is home to 26 Primary Schools which pupils must attending prior to joining Secondary School.  Bournemouth also benefits from 2 grammar schools, one for boys and one for girls.  There are also a small number of independant schools in the town and also a further education college.  Bourmemouth also has two universities; Bournemouth University and Bournemouth Arts University.


Transport...

The main route to the town centre is the A338 spur road, a dual carriageway that connects to the A31 close to the Hampshire border. The A31 joins the M27 at Southampton and from there the M3 to London and the A34 to the Midlands and the North can be accessed.  The main road west is the A35 to Honiton in Devon which runs through the South East Dorset Conurbation and continues east as far as Southampton, albeit as a non-primary route.  The A350 in the neighbouring borough of Poole provides the only northern route out of the conurbation.  National Express coaches serve Bournemouth Travel Interchange & Bournemouth University. There are frequent departures to London Victoria Coach Station and Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airports.  Local buses are provided mainly by two companies, More Bus, the former National Bus Company subsidiary and now owned by the Go-Ahead group, and Yellow Buses, the former Bournemouth Council-owned company and successors to Bournemouth Corporation Transport, which began operating trams in 1902.[163][164] Other operators serving the town include Damory Coaches and the Shaftesbury & District bus company.  There are also two train stations in Bournemouth, such as Bournemouth train station and also Pokesdown railway station.  Bournemouth is also home to Bournemouth Airport
