Fratton is home to Portsmouth FC playing ground “Fratton Park”. In the past it housed a huge railway depot, but this has mostly been dismantled now, making way for a shopping complex and the redevelopment of Portsmouth F.C.'s stadium.
Mainly residential the area consists of mostly Victorian terraced houses, which is a typical style of the residential areas in the city. However, like the rest of Portsmouth’s ever changing skyline there new residential areas still in planning or in development such as the Vista Apartments and The HUB.
There is a modest shopping centre on Fratton Road, called The Bridge Centre, which is dominated by a large Asda supermarket, with local, low-budget shops and cafes. Located Just off Fratton Park is the newly developed Pompey Centre. The Pompey Centre is Portsmouth’s DIY centre being the home to the only B&Q in the City and one of the most successful trade centres in the UK.

Pubs Bars & Clubs – Obviously being close to Fratton Park there are a number of Pubs and Clubs that air the football matches such as the The John Jacques.
Whether you are approaching from the west or the east, leave the M27 at the A2030 exit (Portsmouth / Southsea) follow this road south, all the way down, towards the bottom of the A2030 you will be able to see the floodlights of Fratton Park. Fratton Train station located off of Goldsmith Avenue. This train station has connections to most major routes.
