Overview...

Havant is to the south east of Hampshire on the South coast of England, between Portsmouth and Chichester. It has good railway connections to London, Portsmouth and Brighton, being served by Havant railway station. The A27 road runs past its southern side, beyond which lies Langstone, and then Hayling Island. To the north is Leigh Park, a large council estate suburb which lies within Havant's boundaries, and beyond that Staunton Country Park. To the east is Emsworth, another small town, whilst to the west lies Bedhampton and Portsdown Hill. The A3 (M) motorway passes to the west.

Residential Area...

The residential area is a mix of both modern builds which you will find more towards the Leigh park end and then you have some quiet period builds located just off of the city centre.

Shopping...

Main shopping centre is called Meridian Shopping (formerly known as The Meridian Centre), as well as a pedestrianised section of West Street Market. Market Parade, linking the Railway Station to West Street, via the Meridian Centre is a shopping parade with a wide range of shops.

Havant Town Centre has a varied selection of most types of smaller shops, offering the customer a more specialist choice and a more personal service. However, it also has high street names and it's own shopping mall, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and pubs all within easy walking distance.

Entertainment...

Pubs, Bars & Restaurants - There are a few speciality restaurants dotted around the Waterlooville area, including an Indian called The Shalimar Tandoori Restaurant which comes very recommended and the Red Lion Inn which is a picturesque country pub dating back to the 12th Century. The pub is well known locally for its excellent food, all freshly prepared and using locally sourced produce.

Sport and Leisure - Waterlooville leisure centre is located in Waterberry Drive, where public and clubs can go and enjoy a relaxing or more competitive swim. Waterlooville Golf Club has around 750 members with a very active competitions fixture programme, as well as a number of mixed and invitation events. It can be found in Cherry Tree Avenue, Cowplain. Waterlooville has a senior non-league football team called Havant and Waterlooville F.C. The team was drawn against Liverpool FC in the FA Cup in the 2007/08 season. Fitness first has a gym in the Dukes Walk development in Waterlooville, just a short walk from the central shopping precinct.
