Waterlooville is located approximately eight miles north of Portsmouth city centre and is surrounded by Purbrook, Cowplain, Lovedean, Clanfield, Crookhorn, Denmead, Hambledon, Horndean and Widley. The A3 to London runs through the centre of the area. The town is twinned with Maurepas, Yvelines in France and Henstedt-Ulzburg in Germany.
Many of the residential areas have spread out from the London Road, and with it being a short drive into Portsmouth City Centre, but still enjoying being in the countryside it has remained an ever popular area for families of all ages. There is an area to the West of Waterlooville that is set to be developed into new homes which will bring many homes and work to the area.
Waterlooville has a main shopping precinct which has several clothes stores including Dorothy Perkins, Peacocks and New Look, as well as a pet store and a few technical stores. Within the Duke Walk development there is a large Waitrose store with a pay and display car park and a Wilkinson's store. Asdas can also be found in Waterlooville. Within the Wellington Retail Park you can find stores such as Argos, TK Max, Halfords, Dreams and Matalan and many, many more national retailers.
Pubs, Bars & Restaurants
There are a few speciality restaurants dotted around the Waterlooville area, including an Indian called The Shalimar Tandoori Restaurant which comes very recommended and and the Red Lion Inn which is a picturesque country pub dating back to the 12th Century. The Churchillian is a pub/restaurant situated on top of Portsdown Hill, which is chalk escarpment estimated at 120 metres high. This is a tremendous vantage point for the pub to provide the most spectacular views across an area covering Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and Hayling Island.
Sport and Lesiure
Waterlooville leisure centre is located in Waterberry Drive, where public and clubs can go and enjoy a relaxing or more competitive swim. Waterlooville Golf Club has around 750 members with a very active competitions fixture programme. It can be found in Cherry Tree Avenue, Cowplain. Waterlooville has a senior non-league football team called Havant and Waterlooville F.C. The team was drawn against Liverpool FC in the FA Cup in the 2007/08 season. Waterlooville Cricket Club play their home games at Jubilee Park.
Waterlooville contains nine primary schools: Padnell Infants and Junior School, Hart Plain Infants and Junior schools, Stakes Hill Infant School, Hulbert Junior School, Waite End Primary School, Purbrook Junior School, Queens Inclosure Primary and St Peter’s Catholic Primary.
It contains five secondary schools: Horndean Technology College, Cowplain Community School, Oakland's Catholic School, Purbrook Park School, and The Crookhorn College of Technology.
There are two colleges, Oakland's Catholic Sixth Form College and South Downs College.
By car there is easy access into the town, its just a very short drive from the A3, A3M and A27
Bedhampton is the nearest train station and is on the main route between London and Portsmouth.

First in Hampshire and Dorset bus routes 40,x40, 41, 45 and 45a, and stagecoach services 37 and 39 serve the main Waterlooville shopping precinct.
